Addressing the kisan mahapanchayat in Aligarh, Rahul Gandhi said that farmers are not against development. However, they were killed for demanding a fair price for their land.
Gandhi dared Mayawati by saying that leaders must communicate with the farmers to understand their issues.
The UP govt, according to Gandhi has failed on that account.
He also said that the land acquisition law is old and needs to be updated. Comparing UP farmers to those in Haryana, he said that Haryanvi farmers got a better price for their land.
